Last Beauty Shoot

I did a shoot last month and wanted to show the look I did working with the wonderful George Lawson. This shoot was very tasteful and I created this beautiful yet edgy smokey eye just using my Naked2 pallet by Urban Decay

With this look I created a "Cat Eye" smokey look without using liner and just using shadows. Starting in the inner eyes I used Verve and then in the middle I used Pistol then gradually faded it into Busted then Blackout. To create that extended cat eye look you just extend your shadow out past your outer eye and shape it to your desire. It is such a sexy yet tasteful and not too much.

Enjoy this beautiful look!

Makeup For Friday Night

My personal MUA <3
Hello my gorgeous ladies and gents! I am going to do a breakdown of my sisters makeup for her night out. The makeup that I did is inspired by Kim Kardashian (photo below), but tailored for a darker skin tone. Patty has a beautiful deeper skin shade (NC45) and I thought it would be fun to try this look on her. I hope you all enjoy. xoxo

Face:
I first primed Patty's face with Amazing Cosmetics Anti-Aging primer and then I put on the Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse foundation and MAC's studio finish concealer in NC45. I set her face using Nars loose powder in Mountain and highlighted using Laura Mercier Mineral Illuminating powder in Starlight.

Eyes:
I used more golden tones than silver so that her lids wouldn't look ashy. I started out with Honesty on the lids and I blended Au Contraire and Shale on the outer corners. I took some Black Tied and Carbon and blended it in a v-shape towards the outer corners and lashline. Finally, I cut the crease using Brun and just blended that down towards the lids. All eye shadows are by MAC. I lined her lids with Loreal's Carbon Intense Lineur and used Stila's eyeliner in Stingray for the inner rims of her eyes. Lastly I applied Ardell 105 lashes (cut in half) on the outer corners of her eyes.

Brows:
I filled in her brows using MAC's brow pencil in spiked and used Naked Lunch eye shadow by MAC on the brow bone.

Lips:
This look was mainly about the bold lip color and for Patty's lips I used Lickable by MAC.

I think this look could work for anyone and it would be fun to put your own little twist to it. Thank you for reading :)

Friday Party Night

This whole weekend was a four day birthday celebration for my lovely Alyssa. We all went out to a bar and danced the night away, and I loved my outfit I put together. It was a little overdressed for the occasion, but come on it feels great to dress nice!

I finally wore this lace royal blue dress I bought a few months ago. It has been in my closet waiting to be worn and I finally did last night.

This dress is beautiful and I fell in love with it when I first saw it. It is so comfortable and I love the lace design it has. I paired it with some black nylons and my favorite black wedges.

I wore one of my rings and a matching earrings.

These wedges are a MUST HAVE! I can wear them all night and dance in them without my feet hurting and they look stylish.

Wardrobe:
Dress: H&M (Divided) $35.95CAD
Shoes: Le Chateau $49.99CAD
Black Nylons: Jacob $10.00CAD

Hope you guys had a fabulous Friday and enjoy the weekend!

Thursday Shopping Day OOTD

Today I went to the mall and was disappointed in the summer selection at the stores. All the stores that I go to regularly, didn't have anything I liked so nothing new for me :( I did though, wear a killer outfit that I actually loved after I put it on.

I found this old button up silk shirt in my closest and decided to start wearing it again. It actually goes with a lot of different things and I can make some new outfits with this cute shirt!

I paired it with my maxi skirt and some boots to complete this look and to go with the sunny weather.

I thought this outfit needed some love, so I added this old heart choke necklace that I never really wore but decided to give it a try.
Finding things that you haven't worn in a while is a great thing because you can make some new outfits without spending money! I call it shopping in your closet, you guys should try it out, you never know what you will find.

My makeup was something I don't do on the regular basis. I did a bit of a smokey eye with a nude lipstick, something a little different for me. I used a blue shadow called Deep Truth by MAC underneath and on my lid for a smokey effect and Goldbit by MAC as a highlighter. My lips are Polished up by MAC as well. For darker skin I found this lipstick color the best for me as a nude, its not to light and not to dark.

Wardrobe:

Shirt: Jacob Clothing: $15.00CAD (on sale)
Skirt: Forever21 $24.00CAD
Boots: Aldo $49.00CAD
Necklace: Vintage

I hope you enjoy this look!

Good Girl Gone Bad

Friday night is coming very close, only a few hours away. I wanted to do something a little different today, so I decided to do a "grunge" look. These kind of looks are personally my favorite and you can be stylish at the same time.

This look is great for those cold summer days when you still want to wear shorts and a light cropped shirt, you actually can! With this look I paired it with a leather jacket, tights, and a pair of killer studded heals.

This outfit can be changed in so many ways and you can even pair these with some boots for more of a comfortable look.

My makeup was a little different then what I do usually. For my eyes I did a simple smokey eye using MAC Black Gold, Twinks, Texture (as a base), and Retro Speck (as my highlight). My lips are this gorgeous purple also by MAC called Cyber

Wardrobe:
Leather Jacket: H$M $30.00CAD (on sale)
Shirt: PacSun $25.00US
Shorts: American Eagle $25.00CAD
Tights: BeBe $10.00CAD
Shoes: The Bay (Material Girl) $45.99CAD

Everyone has that "Bad Girl" that wants to come out. Using your style to your advantage you can have that inner "Bad Girl" show through just a little ;)

I hope you enjoy this look!

Smokey V Evening Look

A smokey V is easy to accomplish.
To achieve this look, first you would use a black eye pencil at the base of your lashes and then smudge upwards stopping at the middle of the lid. Apply any color to the rest of the and blend into the crease. Take any Black eye shadow and apply at the corner of the eyes and over the smudged eye pencil. Then, blend the Black eye shadow into the crease and Black smudged eye liner. You can finish this look with some fake eyelashes or you can load up with mascara.

With the smokey eye, you can use any color you wish. I used an emerald green. For lips, balance the heavy eye color with a soft or nude color.
Enjoy!

Smokey Eye

This is a simple and easy smokey eye I did with just using black shadows and a hint of browns/golds.

The tip for a good and long lasting smokey eye is to start with a black eye pencil. The pencil gives a darker look and a great cream base for the powder shadow to cling onto and hold for a longer wear. With the pencil, I apply about half way on the lid and then blend with a smudge brush. You can then apply your powder eye shadow, I worked with a black starting at the bottom then working about half way up the lid then switched to a golden brown shadow to the crease and finished with a highlight under the brow. The bottom lashes were smudged with a little black shadow and a black eye pencil for the waterline. The key to have a beautiful smokey eye is to work from the bottom, up and a lot of blending! The lash line should be the darkest and work your way up using lighter colors. Finish with a nude lip, or a faint color ( To not overpower the smokey eye) and a little blush for a gorgeous smokey look.
