This is a simple and easy smokey eye I did with just using black shadows and a hint of browns/golds.
The tip for a good and long lasting smokey eye is to start with a black eye pencil. The pencil gives a darker look and a great cream base for the powder shadow to cling onto and hold for a longer wear. With the pencil, I apply about half way on the lid and then blend with a smudge brush. You can then apply your powder eye shadow, I worked with a black starting at the bottom then working about half way up the lid then switched to a golden brown shadow to the crease and finished with a highlight under the brow. The bottom lashes were smudged with a little black shadow and a black eye pencil for the waterline. The key to have a beautiful smokey eye is to work from the bottom, up and a lot of blending! The lash line should be the darkest and work your way up using lighter colors. Finish with a nude lip, or a faint color ( To not overpower the smokey eye) and a little blush for a gorgeous smokey look.
